J. Michael Adler, Ph.D., S.P.E. – Clinical Executive Director ~ Mike Adler has approximately 28 years experience in the field of sex offender assessment/treatment and treatment of sexual abuse victims. He has extensive training and understanding of sexual offenders and their treatment. His Ph.D. is Specialization in Counselor Education, with Cognate-Clinical Psychology, Master in Specialization in Community Agency Counseling, B.A. in Psychology all of which have been received from University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Tennessee. He is a Senior Psychological Examiner in the State of Tennessee; an approved Sex Offender Assessment and Treatment Provider by the Tennessee Sex Offender Board; and a Certified Sex Offender Specialist in the State of Virginia. He is a member of ATSA and is currently serving on the Tennessee Sex Offender Treatment Board and the Tennessee Child Sexual Abuse Task Force.
Thomas R. Herington, M. A., L.P.C. – Administrative Executive Director ~ Tom has extensive training and understanding of sexual offenders and their treatment. He has approximately 28 years experience in the field of sex offender assessment/treatment and the treatment of sexual abuse victims. His M.A. is in Marriage and Family Counseling from Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, California. B.A. in Christian Education, Johnson Bible College, Knoxville, Tennessee and a B.A. in Secondary Education/Psychology, at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Tennessee, an approved Sex Offender Assessment and Treatment Provider by the Tennessee Sex Offender Board; and a Certified Sex Offender Specialist in the State of Virginia. He is a member of ATSA.
Amy E. Mize, M.A., L.P.E. – Director of Tennessee Outpatient Treatment and Assessment Services ~ Amy has approximately 13 years experience as a clinical therapist. She has a M.A. in Clinical Psychology and a B.S. in Elementary Education/Special Education, both from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee. She is a Licensed Psychological Examiner in the State of Tennessee. She is an approved Sex Offender Assessment and Treatment Provider by the Tennessee Sex Offender Board and a Certified Sex Offender Specialist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is a member of ATSA.
Chris Gregg, M.A. – Out-Patient Clinical Therapist ~ Chris has approximately 10 years experience as a clinical therapist. He has a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee. He is currently license eligible and will be completing the licensure requirements for Licensed Professional Counselor by fall of 2010. Chris provides therapeutic and Plethysmograph services under the direct supervision of licensed clinical staff. He works with both the adolescent and adult clients, as well as their family or ally toward established, measurable goals as established in the client’s treatment plan. He is license eligible and will obtain his Tennessee Sex Offender Board Approved status in the fall of 2010.
